Summerfield BESS connection contract executed
The project site, located 17km southeast of the Tungkillo switchyard, involves:
- the construction of a new 275 kV Tepko switchyard
- 17km of new 275kV overhead line, stringing on existing structures
- modifications to the 275kV bay at the Tungkillo switchyard.

The Summerfield BESS is a large-scale, four-hour duration battery storage project designed to supply energy to South Australians and the national electricity grid. The battery will power 70,000 South Australian homes daily – nearly 10% of the state’s households – via 222 battery containers spread over once hectare of land.
